The Great Spirit of the Wood Duck

Introduction: Welcome, friends. This is your host, Tracy Shoolman, with today's episode of Gaia Translate. In today's episode of Gaia Translate, the Great Spirit of the Wood Duck offers us the blessing of timely adaptation. Great Spirit of the Wood Duck: It may be so, daughter, that many of our cousins have and remain as those who have and know themselves, able and willing to reside along the shorelines, to find themselves a little corner in the marsh or on the land that abuts the waters. And there is nothing that we would say is not useful in this choosing. However, we present ourselves as that which has discovered the power of considering a different possibility. And as you are aware, we have made quite a go of it. 

We step forward as that which has and holds the vibratory field of Wood Duck. And while we are not unacquainted, we would offer to those who are unfamiliar that one of the interesting particulars of the wood duck is that we reside within the trees. We have a nest that may surprise some with its distance from the earth. And yes, we raise those who are our ducklings, as you would call them, our young, high above the earth. And while it may be so, they may not know themselves within the waters and swimming quite as quickly as those cousins of theirs who are born abutting the waters. Yet they manage quite well, as do we. It is a matter of knowing it is possible, of adaptation, and of accepting that there is more than just one relationship a life-form may have with that which is the life it seeks to know itself in flow.  

There is much that has and challenges all species on this earth plane now. There are great shifts that have and commence. There are great rearrangings of what we would call habitable environs for those of our cousins and for ourselves and, of course, for all of you. We would not be stepping forward only to offer you this guidance and yet to leave behind that which would be the request of our hearts for those of your human awareness to have and consider that which would be the blessing of preservation of habitable environ for all who have and call this little earth plane their home. That has and is that which would be a great gift and blessing that would be bestowed by your clan. That which is the shifting of the will, which we perceive is quite possible, that which is the claiming of one's own power which we feel could use a bit of encouragement. And finally, that which has and would claim the aspect of our nature, that which is the mantle of the wood duck that has and knows itself willing to try another manner of relation, of residency, of location, if you will, to have and know ourselves in nest. 

That which was, we assure you, looked at with great incredulousness by those of our cousins in their ancestral forms. And there was much squawking and exclamations. It cannot be. You are a duck. You need to remain. This is your nature to reside at the water's edge. What are you thinking, taking yourselves up into the trees? How will your young manage? And so forth. We are sure you can envision the great uproar when our very first ancestors decided on a change of location for their own continuance. And while it is not for everyone, we would offer there is a blessing to a higher vantage point, and to have those who are our young to ourselves, away from those who are the four-leggeds, who can find us as we rest and as our young are in the tender stage where they are unable to fly, or in truth, to swim with great speed or ability. 

And so, we have found while it may offer its challenges, and we consider these our opportunities to adapt, we have found that it has served us well. In this, we have, while not a complete lack, for there are, of course, those who are the winged ones, who are not daunted by the height in which we place our nests. Yet we avoid much that has and would challenge that which would be our progeny of flow. 

We step forward and offer the mantle of the wood duck. And there are other aspects or parts of our nature that we will set aside for the moment that would also benefit and have at this place. We feel it would be quite useful for your clan to claim that willingness to perceive yourself as residing, as having a habitat that is far from what you have and are used to in service to the increased potential of the wellbeing and continuance of those of your family, your friends, your community, and your clan. 

We are not suggesting, although we are not saying it should not be, that you set up your residences up within the trees, much as the tree houses you build for your little ones. It is not such a bad choice, yes? However, we offer that you have found yourselves at a season where the typical construct of a residence or a shelter, where it is exposed to the great and increasing heat of the day without that which has and would mitigate, may not be the most efficient selection for many of your clan. And to, if you will, reach into the deep pockets of your intellect, your creativity, and your ability to problem solve. I think you have a phrase, “necessity is the mother of all invention.”  

We invite you to comprehend that while it may not appear knocking at your door for some, you have found yourselves where it would be quite useful to claim that which is the open willingness of heart to consider the relocation of many of your clan from that which would be the water's edge, that which would be a place without any protection from the increasing thermal conditions of the light of sun upon this physical earth plane, as that which has offered a canopy of protection and mitigation of sorts is stripped away with greater and greater flow. Much as one has and takes into consideration any number of possibilities as you have and would seek to know yourselves and to wrap the arms of your intent around the wellbeing of those who are of your community, your family, and those you love to reconsider how it is you have and are in your physical relation, not only through your actions or lack therein, but through the manner in which you literally create and dwell within your shelters. That is the gift we serve upon the plate of your knowing at this point in our mutual unfoldment of flow.  

To claim that which is the alignment with the light of your wood duck nature is to claim that which is not foreign, we feel, for many, that which you may call ingenuity, that which you may call adaptability, and that which you may call the willingness to walk in alignment with what may not appear to be today a necessity, much as one has the wisdom to know that while the weather may remain comfortable in the waning days of the autumn, to prepare for that which approaches that which would be the winter winds of the shifting of climate is useful. And this aspect of foresight, while it has been somewhat unclaimed by many, it is a useful tool to implement, along with your wood-duck nature, as you have, and explore various and perhaps unknown or unvisited possibilities for that which would be a functionable and serviceable sheltering of those who are of your clan in this season of great shift. 

We have and offer you this, for we feel it would be useful to you, it would serve you, and this does not deny the deep wish of our heart to know all well-served, and that which is the staying of the hand of these great shifts, that which is the willing intent of the heart-place of those of the human family who share the great song of life we have and know.  

It is this blessing and invitation we sought to offer, and when you have and consider, I could not reside in that, we could not build our communities in this manner, we would not know how to manage if we were to live beneath the soil, or deep within the wood, and yet, simply call on your wood-duck nature, and you will realize that which may seem unusual, or perhaps even absurd, may serve quite efficiently that which is not only the continuance, but the well-being of your clan. 

It is this we sought to serve, we felt it was timely to step forward with this blessing of our nature. We have and listen to those, the ears of our heart, who seek to claim the power of one who has and walks in the path of creation and adaptation and flow.
